Transport Made Simple (TMS) is the parent company of multiple bus operators within the Essex and Hertfordshire region. Some of the more well-known bus operators within the company are Central Connect and Konnect Bus.
Route branding is a great way to help promote a route. A well known example of route branding would be the Medway Mainline series of branding that Arriva Southern Counties introduced back in the early 2000s when "Operation Overdrive" was revealed.
One of TMS' sub-brands, Central Connect, operate a 24 hour bus route between Braintree to Stanstead Airport.
We decided to use route 333 as an example of how Central Connect could implement route branding on this route.
For this concept we used a common bus type used on the route, the Alexander Dennis enviro200 MMC.
We decided to use a bit of alliteration to make the name more catchy and rememberable. The name we came up with was "Stansted Skyliner" and this was the logo that we made for it. It features a plane in it which is linked to the "K" in "skyliner" using a "condensation trail".
The livery features the base Central Connect livery but we've slightly adapted it to feature the Stansted Skyliner logo. It also features the route number and the places that the route serves above the windows.
